Elegant handspun, natural dyed, handwoven scarf.
Warp (vertical) yarn is 100% mulberry silk. Weft yarn is 100% eri hand spun silk. Eri silk is only cultivated in the area around Phrao and in parts of northern India. Unlike most filament silks, eri has short staples and must be spun like cotton, resulting in a soft, fluffy wool-like yarn.
When dyed with botanic dyestuffs, the eri and mulberry silk yarn result in subtle but rich colors. Unisex look, suitable for both casual and dressy wear. Can be worn in spring, fall and winter.
Size: 43cm x 174cm plus fringe
Weight: approx. 180gms
Colorways Available:
Our natural dyeing produces 8-9 hues: Natural (undyed), Oat (cream), Latte (light brown), Chamois (yellow ochre), Olive, Dusty Pink, Aubergine, Teal Blue and Espresso (brown/black).
Each piece is one-of-a-kind. Photos show a selection of scarves using eri yarn hand spun in India which produces medium weight scarves with subtle texturing.
